What we're building

Totally Iceland started with a simple goal: build the kind of Iceland travel resource we wished existed when planning our own trips — detailed, honest, and organized around how people actually plan (by region, by time available, by what they most want to see), rather than around what's easiest to monetize.

How the site works

We publish new guides every week, gradually building out coverage of every region, every major attraction, and the practical planning questions every visitor eventually asks — from "when should I go" to "do I need a 4x4." Content is organized into four main sections:

  • Travel Guide — planning fundamentals: timing, weather, getting there and around
  • Things to Do — attractions, tours and experiences, sight by sight
  • Where to Stay — accommodation guidance by region and by budget
  • Regions — deeper overviews of Iceland's distinct areas, from Reykjavik to the Westfjords

Our approach

We aim to be specific and useful rather than generic — real route suggestions, real trade-offs between options, and honest notes about what's genuinely worth your time versus what's simply well-marketed. Where facts like prices or exact hours are prone to change, we point you to the current official source rather than guessing.
